It's been said that animals don't live as long as we do, because their hearts are already pure.
Wildflower knows that to be true, and believes the last loving choice for many pets is to allow them to pass from this world with compassion and dignity.
When it is time to consider saying goodbye, we know that being able to do so in your own home with family and the familiar may make a tough decision slightly easier. Many families choose to be at home with their furry best friend to make it less stressful for their loved one.
We know what a hard and stressful time this is, and so below are some pointers to help you prepare if in-home euthanasia is an option for you:
We recommend preparing a "bed" on the floor that is comfy for all of you so we can sit together. The area needs to be open and have decent lighting for catheter placement.
Medication will be placed under the skin to help your animal relax prior to placing a catheter. The catheter is used to administer medications, and makes the process less stressful.
The process of saying goodbye usually takes about 20-40 minutes from end to end. We encourage you to take your time and visit as long as you need to, so our appointment blocks are ~1.5 hours.
Prior to arrival, please consider what you would like for after care. Wildflower can facilitate cremation options, and can transport your loved one with dignity to the crematorium, but we do arrange that ahead of time so please let us know when you fill out your paperwork.
Should you choose to keep them at home with you for burial, please prepare for that ahead of time.
We know this can be so tough - please don't hesitate to reach out if we can do anything to help!

We understand that your pet's cremation and dignity are concerns, and Wildflower takes the responsibility to provide a safe and trusted vendor very seriously. Pet Memories is a local company owned and operated by a small group of dedicated employees who believe and honor the duty they have. We are proud to recommend them to you for additional services that may compliment your families desires when it's time to say good-bye. Please let us know how we can help.
